We have quite a few tips for you as a homeowner or commercial property owner in search of planting a small tree. You need to begin by planning ahead meticulously. This doesn’t mean that the entire process will be a hassle, you just want to make sure you’re getting exactly what you need.

If you aren’t going to hire a tree care company or arborist, we would tell you to visit a nursery that offers some sort of warranty. We would hope they could assist you in choosing what you need based on your landscape as well.

Most people will go out in search of the largest tree they can find and plant. But the reality of this is that it’s a negative. The root systems of these trees are still contained within a burlap ball and will be “stressed.” Picking a smaller tree means that the roots haven’t grown out much yet and there is still plenty of time for them to establish an area to spread or grow once planted.
